About Me

One of my New Year's Resolutions was to paint more often. Having two small children makes this quite a challenge, but I have been inspired by many of the Daily Painters I have seen, and felt drawn (no pun intended!) to join the movement. Fortunately, I have a wonderful husband who is very supportive. My goal is to create one small painting each day which I will post to this blog. I have always loved the arts, but only began painting a couple of years ago. I have been so fortunate to have had a wonderful mentor in Martin Ahrens. Martin and his wife Joyce Hall Ahrens are both incredible artists and instructors who emphasize the importance of light and shadows in making a painting come to life. I hope that you will enjoy my work. Please don't hesitate to comment, either positively or negatively. I hope to never stop learning and growing!

"Beach Boys"

This painting is a work in progress...I need to tweak it a bit. This is of my two beautiful boys out on Edisto Beach during a family reunion. I gave it to my husband for Christmas this past year. My baby's hair is almost white, and it was a challenge to me to get it right. We had a wonderful day seeing some of my husband's relatives - a fun group of people and a beautiful day!
